Laxton Junior School pupils bring colour to Oundle with Creative Easter Egg Trail

Families in Oundle will be treated to a burst of colour and creativity this spring as local children unveil the school’s first‑ever Easter Egg Trail, running from Saturday 21st March to Sunday 12th April.
The free family activity invites young explorers to wander through Oundle’s beautiful Georgian streets in search of a series of vibrant Easter Egg poster, each one imagined, designed and decorated entirely by children from Laxton Junior School.
The eggs, displayed at numbered points around the town, were created by pupils who attend Griffin Club, the wrap‑around care provision at Laxton Junior School. For weeks, the children have been hard at work bringing their ideas to life, producing an array of colourful designs that now form the heart of the trail.
Families can follow a downloadable map and note down the hidden letter found on each poster. Once all the letters have been collected, they can be rearranged to reveal a well‑known Oundle landmark. There, children aged 3 to 11 will find a special Easter activity pack waiting for them as a reward for completing the challenge.

Organisers say they are delighted to see the children’s creativity celebrated so publicly and hope the trail will encourage families to explore the town together during the Easter holidays.
The trail promises a cheerful mix of puzzle‑solving, fresh air and artistic flair.
Good luck and Happy Easter from all the staff and children involved! For those interested in visiting Laxton Junior School, there is an opportunity to visit the school on Bank Holiday May 4th as part of a Whole School Discovery Morning.
