Three Lions on a shirt - care home residents cheer on Eng-er-land
Residents and staff at Werrington Lodge care home in Peterborough are getting ready to cheer on the home sides throughout the World Cup. The home is decked out with flags and residents can’t wait to enjoy the action over the next few weeks. Everyone is so excited to see how our boys get on!

Fans of the beautiful game at Werrington Lodge are delighted to be able to watch this year’s fixtures. Residents and staff are getting together to watch the matches and celebrate with a favourite tipple and footie-inspired bar snacks whipped up by head chef Sharon Cliffe.
Nancy Simeon, General Manager at the home, said: “We’re really excited to watch the World Cup, we’re hoping to watch as many of the matches as we can, although some are on in the middle of the night – lots of our residents are footie fans. It will be fantastic to be able to cheer on the home sides and especially England! Let’s hope they can do as well as the Lionesses!”
