Redrow South Midlands, which is currently building at Alconbury Weald II in Huntingdon, has donated a total of £2,100 to East Anglian Air Ambulance and X-4RCE as part of its community fund.

The initiative provides organisations with donations to help them thrive, with local causes encouraged to apply for their share of a £10,000 pot.

East Anglian Air Ambulance is a charity that provides lifesaving treatment and care, 24/7, by air and road to people involved in serious accidents and medical emergencies in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

It will put the £1,000 donation towards the build of a new Cambridge air base to safeguard the continuity of the charity’s lifesaving service in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and beyond, to bring hospital-level critical care to people in severe medical emergencies.

Daisy Rivetti, Corporate Partnerships Manager at East Anglian Air Ambulance, said: “Whether by air or road, we’re there for the most seriously ill and injured, when every second counts. Probably on the worst day of their lives.

“We’re truly grateful for the generous support from Redrow South Midlands to help with the build of our new Cambridge air base. Our bases aren’t ordinary buildings. They are home to our helicopters and crews, which provide vital lifelines for countless people in communities we serve across the region.”

Meanwhile, X-4RCE, a community-led movement dedicated to empowering men at risk of social isolation and improving mental health, will use the £1,100 donation to fund additional exercise sessions for participants, ensuring more people can enjoy a safe and engaging fitness programme.

Andrew Newman, Sales Director at Redrow South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be able to support East Anglian Air Ambulance and X-4RCE with our latest community fund donation.

“Building thriving communities in our developments and surrounding areas means investing in local charities. We are proud to back these vital organisations, which provide emergency support and help more men overcome mental health challenges and rebuild their lives.”
