Peterborough cyber security specialist launches new advisory service for SMEs

A Peterborough-based cyber security specialist has launched Fractional Wisdom, a new independent advisory service designed to help small and medium-sized businesses understand and manage cyber risk without the complexity often associated with the industry.

Founded by Lindsey Hall, Fractional Wisdom works alongside existing IT providers to help business owners, directors and leadership teams make informed decisions about cyber security, Cyber Essentials certification, supplier requirements and cyber resilience. The company focuses on providing independent guidance rather than selling software, hardware or managed services.

Recent high-profile cyber incidents affecting major UK organisations have increased awareness of cyber risk, but many smaller businesses remain unsure what practical steps they should take.

"Most business owners understand that cyber security matters, but many aren't sure what good looks like or where to start," said Lindsey Hall, Founder and Director of Fractional Wisdom.

"Many SMEs are being asked by customers, insurers or suppliers to demonstrate better cyber security controls through schemes such as Cyber Essentials. Our role is to provide clear, independent advice that helps leaders make sensible decisions and gain confidence in the measures they already have in place."

Drawing on decades of experience in technology, managed services and cyber security, Hall established Fractional Wisdom to address what she believes is a gap in the market between traditional IT support providers and larger cyber security consultancies. The business aims to provide practical, director level advice in plain English, helping organisations reduce risk without unnecessary expense or technical jargon.

Fractional Wisdom is based in Peterborough and primarily supports organisations across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and the wider East of England, while also working with businesses throughout the UK.
