Peterborough care home brews up success for Dementia UK
Residents, staff, and the local community at Hampton Care Home in Peterborough have raised a fantastic £85 for Dementia UK following their successful “Time for a Cuppa” coffee morning.

The event saw the home decorated into a community hub, filled with the aroma of coffee and a spectacular spread of delicious homemade cakes donated by families and the homes talented hospitality team. The total was significantly boosted by match funding from Nationwide, doubling the impact of the local community’s generosity.
The initiative is part of a national campaign to fund specialist dementia nurses (Admiral Nurses) who provide life-changing support to families facing dementia. For the residents at Hampton Care Home, the morning was a wonderful opportunity to welcome the Peterborough community and share stories over a slice of cake.

Activity Coordinator, Becky Merrington said, “We are so grateful to everyone who came along, enjoyed a cuppa, and donated. The homemade cakes were a particular delight. Thanks to the incredible support from our visitors and the match funding from Nationwide, we’ve raised a brilliant amount that will truly make a difference.”
The funds raised will go directly toward helping Dementia UK provide more families with the specialist clinical, emotional, and practical support they need.
