Inspired Martial Arts students crowned World Champions in Spain
“So proud of these two. The standard of fighters out there was extremely high”
Two young fighters from Inspired Martial Arts have returned from Spain as WKC World Champions after an outstanding week of international competition.

Jaxon ‘Storm’ Ellis and Nikita Sakaldip represented Inspired Martial Arts at the 2026 WKC World Championships, held in Chiclana, Cádiz, Spain from 24 to 30 October.
The annual championships, organised by the World Karate Commission, bring together leading sport-karate competitors from member nations around the world. Athletes qualify through their national federations before competing across disciplines including point sparring, continuous sparring, forms and weapons.

Both Inspired Martial Arts students produced exceptional performances against an international field.
Jaxon claimed Gold in the Under 9s -40kg division, earning the title of WKC World Champion. He also returned home with Silver in Mixed Doubles and two Bronze medals in Tag Team and Teams competition.
The victory adds another major international title to Jaxon’s growing record after he became a WAKO European Champion in 2025.
Nikita also secured a World Championship title, taking Gold in the Teams Ages 12-13 +50kg category. She added Silver in the Open Weight division and Bronze in the Ages 12-13 +60kg category, completing an impressive three-medal championship campaign.

Inspired Martial Arts founder Jamie Johannes praised the determination shown by both fighters throughout the competition.
“So proud of these two. The standard of fighters out there was extremely high. Big teams from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Ireland, Spain, and plenty more, all there to win.
“Honestly, it's the best I've ever seen them both fight. Some of those rounds were tough, and they kept going and kept believing in themselves. Real heart and resilience.
“To be world champions at this level is something really special. Jaxon, Nikita, you should be so proud of yourselves. I know I am.”

For Inspired Martial Arts, the results represent more than medals. Both students demonstrated the qualities the club works to build through training: confidence under pressure, discipline in preparation and the resilience to keep fighting when a contest becomes difficult.
Their success also provides a powerful example for younger students training across the Inspired Martial Arts network, showing what can be achieved through consistent training, courage and belief in their own ability.
