Greencore's Wisbech site celebrates highest food safety accreditation, customer recognition and record production volumes

Greencore's Wisbech manufacturing site is celebrating a series of major achievements after successfully passing two rigorous customer audits as well as achieving the highest possible AA+ accreditation in its unannounced BRCGS Food Safety audit.

The accomplishments come during one of the busiest periods in the site's recent history, with colleagues delivering record production volumes to support a major new Italian ready meals launch for a leading retail customer.

The successful audits demonstrate the dedication, expertise and teamwork of the hundreds of colleagues based at the Wisbech site, which is one of the area's largest employers and plays a vital role in the local economy.

The AA+ BRCGS grading is awarded to sites that demonstrate the very highest standards of food safety, quality, legality and operational excellence, providing customers and consumers with confidence in the products produced at the site.

To recognise the collective effort behind these achievements, Greencore hosted a series of celebratory summer BBQs for colleagues across the site. During the celebrations, a special Greencore 100 years mural was unveiled, marking the company's centenary year and recognising the contribution that generations of colleagues have made to the business's success.

The celebrations will continue as part of the site's Picnic Week activities, with colleagues enjoying tastings of delicious quiches produced by Greencore's sister site in Kiveton. The tastings will provide an opportunity for colleagues to sample products made elsewhere in the Greencore network while coming together to celebrate the success of the Wisbech team.

Paul Biggs, General Manager at Greencore Wisbech, said: "Achieving AA+ accreditation in an unannounced BRCGS audit is a fantastic accomplishment and reflects the commitment our teams show every day to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

"Passing two customer technical audits while also delivering record production volumes for a significant new product launch is an outstanding achievement. I am incredibly proud of everyone at Wisbech who has contributed to this success.

"The celebrations were an opportunity to thank our colleagues for their hard work and dedication. The unveiling of our Greencore 100 years mural was a fitting way to recognise both our heritage and the role our people continue to play in shaping our future."

As demand for its products continues to grow, Greencore Wisbech is also keen to attract new talent from across the local area. The site offers a range of career opportunities spanning production, engineering, technical, logistics and support functions, providing long-term employment and development opportunities for local people.

The company hopes that highlighting the expertise and success of the Wisbech team will encourage more people to consider a career in food manufacturing and join a business that supplies products enjoyed by millions of consumers every week.

"We're always looking for great people to join our team and help us continue building on this success."
