Fire up the grill at Burghley: Hoggy’s sizzling summer BBQ workshops land this summer 

Hoggy’s Grill, the popular Rutland-based BBQ business owned and run by Ashes-winning legend Matthew Hoggard, is bringing its sought-after workshops to the Burghley House Estate this July, with an exclusive two-day pop-up taking place in the unique setting of The Dairy. 

Taking place on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 July 2026, the workshops will give guests the chance to sharpen their barbecue skills, enjoy hands-on cookery sessions and sample a range of flame-grilled dishes in one of Cambridgeshire’s most impressive settings, all with a touch of cricketing flair from one of England’s most celebrated fast bowlers. 

The pop-up will be hosted at The Dairy, a spectacular 19th-century building nestled within the grounds of the Burghley House Estate. Surrounded by sweeping Capability Brown parkland, the venue provides a memorable countryside backdrop for the summer workshops, the perfect setting for Hoggy to swap the pitch for the grill. 

Across the two days, Hoggy’s Grill will run a variety of classes, including the Four Course Gourmet Class and the Three Course Basic Class as well as the Kids Eat Free Burger Classes.  

The Three Course Basic Class will take place on Wednesday 29th July. It includes a vegetarian starter, meats, potatoes, vegetables and a grilled desert. Priced at £145.00 per person, the course offers the chance to understand what’s needed to become a pro!  

The Kids Eat Free Ultimate Burger Class will take place on Wednesday 29 July, offering families a fun way to keep children entertained during the school holidays. Priced at £60 per adult, the class allows up to two children under the age of 16 to attend for free with every full-paying adult. Additional children can attend for £10 each.
