Family of swans cause chaos on morning commute

Traffic was brought to a standstill on the approach to Peterborough this morning when a family of swans wandered onto the road.

Seemingly unaware of the passing traffic, two adult swans and their four cygnets waddled from the hard shoulder into the live lanes, bringing vehicles to a halt.

Thankfully, three quick-thinking animal lovers stepped in to usher the family to safety, giving commuters an unexpected spectacle from their cars.

Police were soon on the scene to help manage the situation, ensuring there was a happy ending for both the swans and the commuters hoping to catch their trains.
