EFL pundit optimistic about Peterborough United's chances this season
Peterborough United will be hoping for a much-improved League One campaign after a difficult end to last season saw them finish 18th with 53 points.

Posh won just one of their final 15 league matches, with their campaign ending in a 3-1 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers. There have been more positive signs recently, including a 1-0 Carabao Cup victory away at Bristol Rovers, as Peterborough look to put last year's struggles behind them.
Former footballer and Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes the club can rediscover the form that has regularly seen them competing towards the top end of the division.
Speaking at the Champions (UK) plc British Par 3 Championships, Goodman discussed Peterborough's prospects ahead of the new campaign.
“I’ve been listening to Darragh MacAnthony on the radio! I like Darragh, I know he’s excited and enthusiastic about this season and what it might bring.
“League One is a tough division. There are a lot of big clubs in there nowadays. You’ve got Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday and Luton, who were in the Premier League only a couple of years ago, so it’s going to be difficult.
“But I’m hopeful that Peterborough can get back to what they normally are, which is a team challenging around the top six.”
Posh’s 2026/27 League One campaign gets underway this weekend, with a trip up north to Valley Parade against Bradford City.
