The sessions were designed to inspire children, promote teamwork and resilience, and increase access to cricket for young people within the local community. Pupils enjoyed learning new batting, bowling and fielding techniques while building confidence and enthusiasm for the game.

Away from his professional role, Lee is also a qualified cricket coach who dedicates his time to coaching children of all ages at Oundle Town Cricket Club. His experience working with young players brought energy, encouragement and expertise to the sessions, helping pupils of all abilities to engage and enjoy the sport.

Staff at St Augustine’s praised the impact of the visit, highlighting how valuable it is for pupils to work with positive role models who are passionate about creating opportunities for children through sport.

The school hopes the sessions will encourage more children to participate in cricket both in school and within local clubs, widening access to the sport and promoting healthy, active lifestyles.
