Cherry Hinton Care Home and Cambridge Manor Care Home partner with Age UK to tackle loneliness through befriending service
Cherry Hinton Care Home and Cambridge Manor Care Home are delighted to announce a new partnership with Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, supporting their invaluable Befriending Service to help reduce loneliness and social isolation among older people in the local community.
The partnership reflects both homes' commitment to improving the wellbeing of older adults, not only within their care homes but across the wider Cambridge community. Through the initiative, the homes will work alongside Age UK to raise awareness of the Befriending Service, helping older people who may benefit from regular companionship and meaningful conversation.
Loneliness can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health, particularly for older adults who may live alone or have limited opportunities for social interaction. Age UK's Befriending Service provides regular contact through trained volunteers, offering friendship, emotional support and reassurance that someone is there to listen.
Cherry Hinton Care Home and Cambridge Manor Care Home are proud to support this important service by promoting the initiative, building stronger community connections and encouraging local residents to access the support available.
