Care capacity boost for Peterborough amid rising demand
Crystal Care Collection has announced an upcoming care home in Peterborough, Maypole Gardens, which will provide high-quality residential, dementia and respite care.

With Peterborough City Council predicting a more than 68% increase in people aged 65+ from 2020 to 2040, Maypole Gardens is the first home designed by Crystal Care Collection in Cambridgeshire to address this growing need.
Due to open in February 2027, Maypole Gardens will be located on Earlam Road, providing 66 en-suite bedrooms, a salon, private family areas, a cinema, landscaped gardens, and bright, open social spaces.

Once the home is fully occupied, circa 60 new roles will be created, including care, housekeeping, catering, management and activities team members.
This will bring significant long‑term employment opportunities to Peterborough, with Crystal Care Collection committed to recruiting locally and offering training and development for people seeking a career in care.
Maria Taylor, the Managing Director for Crystal Care Collection in the Midlands, said, “Maypole Gardens represents a major investment in the future of care in Peterborough, and we are committed to making it a true part of the city.
“We will be regularly opening our doors to local groups, schools and volunteers so that residents remain active, connected and involved in the heart of the community.”

The new team at Maypole Gardens will be welcoming the community into the home for a Grand Opening event in February 2027, where all will be able to enjoy entertainment, homemade treats, and tours of the facilities.
