Cambridgeshire housebuilder provides funding boost for charity helping Chatteris flourish
A five-star housebuilder has donated £500 to Chatteris in Bloom, helping the charity continue creating colourful displays and welcoming green spaces for the local community.

The donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes, which is building nearby at Chatteris Gate, will help fund improvements to the charity's Station Road sensory bed and support plans to further develop the popular green space, which is enjoyed by both residents and local wildlife.
James Green, Chair at Chatteris in Bloom, said: “It’s wonderful to see a donation from a local house builder. As our town grows and welcomes new families, we as a group will continue improving the environment in which we live and this donation helps to expand on our work. We’d also love to see our new residents become involved and help out.”
In 2026, the charity installed around 40 hanging baskets and planting displays and worked with local artist Ambie Howie to transform the Old Auction Yard community plot into a Winnie-the-Pooh themed display celebrating the book's 100th anniversary.
This year, the group's efforts received recognition at both regional and national level. In July, Chatteris welcomed judges from Anglia in Bloom, followed by a visit from Britain in Bloom judges in August.
Kerry Mullen, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “As we welcome new residents to Chatteris Gate, we know that thriving community groups like Chatteris in Bloom play a vital role in making the town such a special place to live. We're delighted to support their work and the positive difference they make every day.”
Chatteris Gate offers peaceful countryside living in the scenic Fens with convenient access to a range of local amenities including schools, shops, supermarkets and leisure facilities.
The development is well connected, with direct rail links from nearby March and Manea to towns and cities including Peterborough, Ely and Cambridge.
