1811 Bakes: Meet Peterborough's new local cookie brand

A new local baking business is hoping to make its mark with chunky, fully loaded cookies, creative flavors and a name with a very special meaning behind it.

Founded by Nosheen Khan, 1811 Bakes is a growing home baking business, set up in Hampton, Peterborough, offering indulgent cookies for everything from a weekend treat to personalized gifts, celebrations and events.

But there is more behind the name than you might expect.

For most people, 1811 (eighteen eleven) is simply another date on the calendar. For Nosheen, it represents a significant turning point in her life and a journey that shaped her into the person she is today.

“1811 was never just a random name,” she explains. “It represents a very important part of my journey. I wanted to take something that held so much meaning and turn it into something positive that I could build and grow.”

And that's exactly what she is doing.

From developing recipes and experimenting with different flavors and fillings to creating the branding, packaging orders and attending local events, 1811 Bakes has been built from the ground up.

The focus is on creating cookies that feel like a proper treat; chunky, indulgent and generously filled, with a growing selection of flavours and new creations regularly being added using premium ingredients.

What began in Nosheen’s kitchen is gradually reaching more people through local orders, returning customers, recommendations, personalized requests and events.

For Nosheen, the aim is to continue growing 1811 Bakes into a local name people recognised, while keeping the personal touch of a small independent business.
