Peterborough’s festive firework display a sell out

All tickets for Peterborough’s Christmas drive in firework display have sold out within just a few days of going on sale, it has been announced.

The display was organised following the success of a similar event on November 4.

Martin Allen, managing director of event organisers Entertainment Effects, said: “Our recent drive in fireworks at the Arena on November 4 was a huge success, and there was evidently a strong appetite locally for a display that could be enjoyed as part of a big crowd, even if social distancing rules were in effect. Audiences were impressed not only by the display, but the efficiency of the covid security precautions and the ease of getting in and out of the venue, both facilitated by the Arena’s brilliant team.”

“With that success behind us, a Festive Fireworks display was suggested and although we were confident that tickets for the show on December 20th would sell out fast, no-one anticipated they would go quite so quickly.”

Jason Lunn, venue director, East of England Arena and Event Centre, congratulated Entertainment Effects on the feat, saying, “The enjoyment and excitement of our Drive-in, bonfire night fireworks display spread like wildfire, and many people were disappointed they weren’t able to book in time. The drive-in format is well suited to our venue, so a second Festive Fireworks Display was enthusiastically welcomed, and that decision vindicated by a second sell-out display in as many months. A huge thank you to Entertainment Effects for bringing such a brilliant and well-received show here.”
