‘Party in the Paddock’ is being run by local charity Jack’s Journey and will be raising money for a life-changing operation for six-year-old Jack Rickard, who has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy.

There will be plenty to do for the whole family with live music, a bar, barbecue, bouncy castles, face painting and some more unusual activities – including tree climbing races and ferret racing.

There will also be sack races and a ‘Barnack’s Got Talent’ competition.

Party in the Paddock takes place at The Rectory Gardens, Millstone Lane, Barnack, PE9 3ET, from midday until 6pm. Entry costs £5 for a family of four or £2 per person.

Ryhall-based brewery The Stoney Ford Brew Co will be releasing a brand new bitter at the event.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Jack’s Journey – a charity which was set up to raise £60,000 for a life-changing operation for Jack.

Local group Stamford XT (ex-tablers) have also very generously promised to match fund the earnings from the event. They have been a great help in supporting the charity so far, offering advice, volunteers and match funding.

Jack’s mum Shona Rickard, who has organised the event, said: “We are so overwhelmed by the amount of support we have had from the local community to help get this event underway.

“The generosity of the Barnack and Stamford community has been mind-blowing and we are so grateful to everyone who has been involved. We would love to see you there at what will be a great event!”

The event is being sponsored by Stamford’s Ford car dealership, TC Harrison.
