Peterborough Cathedral Christmas Market is just a few weeks away - with winter wonderland set to arrive in city centre
Peterborough will have a winter wonderland this Christmas – thanks to the Cathedral.
With Peterborough City Council urgently seeking sponsors for the Christmas light switch on, it is feared that there will be no festive spectacular in the city centre this year.

Hide AdBut Peterborough Cathedral’s Christmas Market will being some seasonal magic to the city – and give shoppers the chance to pick up the perfect gifts for loved ones.


A spokesperson for Peterborough Cathedral said: “This November, something truly enchanting awaits within the ancient walls of Peterborough Cathedral. Step through its towering doors and find yourself in a winter wonderland—where flickering candlelight dances across towering stone columns and the air is filled with the scent of pine, spices, and Christmas magic... For two days only, our sacred halls will be transformed with over 100 stallholders offering the finest handcrafted treasures, from enchanted trinkets to cosy wares perfect for warming your hearth and home.
“As you wander beneath the vaulted ceilings, you’ll feel the rich history of the Cathedral woven into the very fabric of this extraordinary annual market. Picture yourself sipping mulled wine as the soft glow of fairy lights illuminates the ancient stone, and the echoes of festive music enchants every corner of the Nave. Whether you’re seeking a cute keepsake or the perfect gift for a loved one, there’s something special to uncover around every corner—hidden gems that might just have a little magic of their own.

Hide AdThe event will take place on November 22 and November 23, with doors opening from 1pm until 8pm on the 22nd, and from 10am until 5pm on the 23rd.
Tickets will cost £2.20
The market is just one of the magical events taking place at Peterborough Cathedral this year – with another festive favourite, the stunning Luxmuralis show taking place earlier in November.
There will also be the traditional Christmas services and events taking place in the run up to the big day.
