Acaster kicks off four nights of comedy at the Key

Undercover cops. Jury duty. Witness protection. A lot has happened to James across his past three critically acclaimed shows. He doesn’t know who he is, he doesn’t know what he believes and he doesn’t know what he’s going to do with his life.

The Trelogy sees James perform one of the past three years’ shows – Recognise (2014) tonight, Represent (2015) tomorrow and Reset (2016) on Saturday.

Having quickly established himself as one of the leading lights of British comedy, James has notched up a plethora of award nominations, including Best Comedy Show at the 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and taking home the Best International Show Award at the 2014 New Zealand International Comedy Festival.

On Friday, The Noise Next Door - the UK’s premier improv comedy troupe - bring their own brand of humour to the Studio stage. Using suggestions made by the audience the guys - Charlie Granville, Matt Grant, Tom Livingstone and Sam Pacelli, transform them into hilarious scenes and songs. This means that every show is a unique performance and filled with their very distinct brand of off-the-cuff comedy.

On Saturday you can catch “king of ther one-liner” Gary Delaney on the Main stage.

Gary thinks a good joke should be like a drunk Glaswegian, short and punchy. His new show is not only great for people who like lots of jokes, but fun for people who enjoy getting offended by jokes too! Next door, Jamali Maddix is on in the Studio. Bringing the festival to a close on Sunday is Nish Kumar in the Studio and a sold out show from Rob Beckett in the Main theatre.
