Three more British titles for Harriers golden girl Andrea

The 40 year-old thower confirmed her status as the Harriers golden girl, becoming a three times national champion with wins in the discus (38.26m), hammer (47.10m) and the weight throw (14.62m).

And, as if that wasn’t enough, she also took javelin bronze (21.72m) and just missed out on a medal when finishing fourth in the shot (9.24m).

Harriers won another throwing gold when Ken Baker took the Over 40 shot putt title with 12.75m.

Sprint ace Ricky Huskisson shows no sign of slowing down, winning silver medals in the Over 55 100m (12.11) and 200m (24.68). Huskisson’s 200m time was his fastest since 2011.

Claire Smith earned the family bragging rights with silver medals in the Over 40 200m (28.26) and 400m (64.68).

Husband Julian qualified for the finals of both the 100m (12.31) and 200m (25.28), but narrowly missed out on a podium place when finishing fourth in the 200m.

As a young man of 60, John Blackwell returned to the sport in 2011 after an absence of many years. Now aged 65, Blackwell claimed silver in both the weight throw (12.33m) and hammer (32.26m).

Nicky Morgan capped a fine season on the track, winning bronze in the Over 45 1500m. Morgan will now turn her thoughts to cross-country as she strives to defend her North Midlands League veterans title.
