Tries came at regular intervals, with captain Beckah Mallard crossing the whitewash on four occasions ensuring the sun-soaked supporters – over 250 were in attendance, were kept entertained throughout. Yasmin Crehan crossed twice with Rosie Squires, Ella Lawson, Maddie Clay, Sofia Keilholz and Hannah Haslope also touching down. Lawson also kicked six conversions.

The conditions suited Oundle’s style of play, with the forwards happy to run at the defensive walls all afternoon, ensuring that the backs had plenty of space to exploit out wide.

Oundle’s final league game is at Occupation Road against third-placed Hinckley Hellcats on Sunday, May 3 (2.30pm kick off).

Standings: 1 Oundle P13 64pts, 2 Lutterworth P13 53pts, 3 Hinckley P13 52pts, 4 Market Bosworth P14 49pts, 5 Sileby P14 47pts, 6 Market Harborough P14 37pts, 7 Barkers Butts P14 31pts, 8 Pinley P13 8pts.
