Versatile cue ball star's big snooker break was followed by two more tour pool finals
Local cue ball star Mark Gray has shone in snooker and pool competitions.
Gray delivered the highest break of the season in the Spalding & District Snooker and Billiards League when knocking in a total clearance of 132. The Bourne Snooker Centre professional plays off a 98 handicap in this competition so had to give scratch player Simon Law a 98 point start. Law broke off and that was the last shot he played.

Gray was playing for the Bourne Pyramid F team who went into the last game of the season at Spalding Consti E needing to win to take the title. His team went on to win. His teammates were Pete Hodgson-Kerry, Carl Gibson, Ian Gibson, Ian Clare and Oliver Player (o28)
Gray barely plays snooker these days, but has become a prolific pool tournament winner.
He picked up £450 for a second-placed finish in a EPA Southern Seniors (Over 50s) event in Maidenhead, losing 7-5 in a high-class final against former World Champion Phil Harrison after wins of 7-1, 7-1, 7-2 and 7-5.
He then won the Berkshire Seniors Open, beating Ultimate Pool pro Dylan Leary 6-4 in the semi-final before taking out Jason Toovey 6-2 in the final to earn another £200. Gray plays in event 2 of the Over 40s tour in Braintree this weekend.
