Two sets of golden brothers as HAITO Karate Club students excelled at their own tournament
There was another cracking set of results for the city’s HAITO Karate Club...this time at their own tournament.
HAITO hosted the ‘3rd Kyokushin Karate Kumite Tournament for Novices’ at their Woodston base and claimed eight 1st places, six 2nd places, three 3rd places and 3 4th place finishes.

Included in the club’s roll of honour were two sets of brothers, Tauras and Simas Jucevicius plus Robert and David Buzatu.
Haito instructor and organiser Sensei Gabija Kalinauskaite praised the students for their focus and improvement: “What an incredible day of spirit, strength and perseverance,” she said.
The event was designed specifically for novices — younger or less experienced karate students — enabling them to face real competition in a controlled, safe environment while embodying the values of the Kyokushin Karate style: discipline, respect, and resilience.
Events like this are vital stepping-stones for students, helping them build confidence, refine their skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of the martial-arts community. While the awards are a great recognition of their efforts, the real success is in the growth, discipline, and perseverance shown by each participant.
For those interested in joining, HAITO Karate offers a one-week free trial and a flexible class timetable with three to five sessions each week to choose from. Classes are available for children, juniors and adults, providing an excellent opportunity for anyone to experience authentic Kyokushin Karate in a strong and motivating environment.
