Stilton shooter is set for his fourth appearance for GB at the Paralympic Games
Tokyo will mark Skelhon’s fourth Games, and he will be hoping for another fluctuation in fortunes after a wildly different three Paralympic adventures so far, especially after coming close to calling it a day.
The 36-year-old claimed gold in his very first Paralympics in Beijing in 2008 and followed it up on home soil in London four years later with a silver and a bronze.

But having decided to stick with it, Skelhon is now targeting more medals at a Games he never thought he would reach.
“I’m really happy and it’s a proud moment again to be selected for another Games,” said Skelhon, who is one of more than 1,100 National Lottery-funded elite athletes on UK Sport’s World Class Programme, allowing him to train full-time and have access to the world’s best facilities.
“It’s really cool (to have reached a fourth Games). When I started I probably didn’t know how many Games I would compete at, if I’d make it to any at all. For it to be my fourth is a really good achievement.
