Siddons qualifies for European Triathlon Championships after competing well against GB Olympic gold medallist
PACTRAC man Jake Siddons cemented his qualification for next year's European Championships with a great 12th place overall and second in his age group in the Ripon Sprint Triathlon.
The race was actually won by double GB Olympic gold medallist Alistair Brownlee. Siddon had a solid bike section before a phenomenal 3.1 mile run which was only 23 seconds slower than Brownlee’s to qualify for a place in Kitzbuhel, Austria next summer in a time of 68.17 (11.15, 40.47, 16.15).

Paul Lunn won his age group, finishing sixth overall, with clubmate Sam Chapman seventh, against a big national field at the Outlaw Half in Holkham. Lunn, the reigning Half-Ironman World Champion, was first away on the bike and stormed into an unassailable lead, eventually winning his age group by over 33 minutes in 4:18:35.
Chapman was just under three minutes slower and finished second in his age group. Louise Hathaway was an age group second in the aquabike race.

Lunn, who holds seven of the eight fastest times on the course, also won the penultimate PACTRAC mini-series race of the summer. It was his second win of the series, but not enough to stop Jake Daniels clinching the title with a race to go.
Lunn was second after the swim to Julia Kingsley, but he flew home with fastest times on the bike and in the run to win by over five minutes from new member Rachel Baker. Chris Brennan was third ahead of another new member Monty Wood who set a personal best (PB) time.
