Sawtry star Steadman claims another major medal and PACTRAC athletes also took part in the World Triathlon Championships
Lauren Steadman, a superstar triathlete from Sawtry, has added another major Championship medal to her vast collection.
Steadman won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain in the Paratriathlon PTS5 category last weekend. She finished just 29 seconds behind silver medalist Erica Da Rosa Rodrigues of Brazil after being overtaken during the bike section of the race. Grace Norman of the United States won the race.

Steadman recorded a time of 1:10:29 with splits of 11:34 for the 75m swim, 39.25 for the 20km bike and 19:30 for the 5k run. It was an astonishing 54th podium finish from 58 starts for Team GB in a career stretching back to 2011.
Steadman has won Paralympic, World and European titles.
PACTRAC athletes Jake Siddons and Steve Hope took part in age group World Championships at the same venue. Siddons finished his sprint triathlon with a 1.47 5km run which took him to within three minutes of a medal in ninth place.
Hope took part in sprint and standard triathlons and finished in the top half of the former.
Elsewhere Phil Groves finished third overall in the Grafham Water Triathlon. He recorded the second fastest bike and run, and finished 1:36 behind the overall winner. Along with Jack Shipton in seventh place, both won their respective age groups.
Chris Shaw and Andrew Chapman finished second in their age groups.
And Laura Hardy became the sixth PACTRACer to complete a solo English Channel Swim. Laura had a night swim, setting off at 8pm and reaching Pointe aux Oies 15:46 hours later.
Only 2,141 solo crossings have been made across the channel, including 91 this year.
