Peterborough Telegraph Sports Award shortlists are set so time to start voting for your favourites: Sportsman, Sportswoman, Junior sportsperson

The 2019 Peterborough Telegraph Sports Awards shortlists have been set.

The shortlists based on public nominations will be published throughout today (March 5), three categories at a time.

Here are the shortlists for Sportsman, Sportswoman and Junior Sportsperson. Personal citations are in today’s PT.

Sportsman: Bowler Nicky Brett, golfer Robin ‘Tiger’ Williams, British speedway champion Charles Wright and local karate king Rob Taylor.

Sportswoman: Golfer Thalia Martin, Masters athlete Andrea Jenkins, City of Peterborough swimmers Amelia Monaghan and Harriet Salisbury.

Junior sportsperson: English Schools Athletics champion Donvan Capes, cricketer Sam Jarvis, athletes Evie Hemmings and Joe Purbrick, rowers Bert Papworth and Tom Calver (joint nomination).

Register your vote by starting your text with PT (followed by a space) then SPORT followed by the name of the nominated person or team from the list on the opposite page and the category you wish to vote for, then your own name

and email address and send to: 85100 (Texts cost £1 per vote, plus your standard network rate).

For example, your text could look like: PT (space) SPORT FRED SMITH JUNIOR SPORTSMAN

Closing date for voting is: midnight on Monday, March 16.
