Peterborough Panthers star Chris Harris ended his 2020 season on a frustrating note as he missed out on the top eight in the Peter Craven Memorial meeting at Belle Vue last night (October 22)..

Harris, the winner of the event at the Aces’ former home of Kirkmanshulme Lane 10 years ago, scored six points at the National Speedway Stadium, leaving him one short of the mark required to progress.

He collected three second places in his first four rides to remain in touch, but his hopes were dashed in a crunch heat 17 in which he went off the unfavourable gate two.

Harris was initially in the mix with Richard Lawson, but home duo Dan Bewley and Brady Kurtz came charging through to relegate the Panthers man to the back, ending his involvement in the meeting.

The event was won by Swindon captain Jason Doyle, with Bewley second and Kurtz third in the six-rider final.
