Harris is in the line-up for the British Final at Ipswich as Panthers’ sole representative.

“It means a lot to be in the British Final and that’s why I went to such lengths to be at Ipswich this Saturday,” Harris said.

“It wasn’t easy getting it all sorted to race on Saturday and then fly out early on Sunday to ride in the World Longtrack in Poland but I managed it.”

Like everyone else, Harris is hoping to see fans back at other sports so speedway can start next season on time. He felt Panthers had a shot at winning the Premier League title in 2020.

“It’s such a shame that we haven’t had a league season and I feel for everyone, it’s been a bad year and I’ve lost income like everyone else,” Harris added.

“It’s good to look ahead to next year now and hopefully we can get the season started in the spring.

“I think so many people will be desperate to see the sport again having missed a full season and I’ll be raring to go with the rest of the boys.

“It was a good team we had and I reckon we’d have been right up there.

“It was all set up for an exciting season and we had a lot of strength in all parts of the team, hopefully that can remain the case for next year.

“I was pleased to be coming back after what happened last year. Everyone knows I enjoy it at Peterborough and I’m pleased it all worked out.

“The track was good last year, what Buster (owner Keith Chapman) did there was excellent and you could see that by the amount of times the track record went.”
