Langtoft youngster Sophia emerging as a top gymastics prospect
Sophia Allen from Langtoft is rapidly emerging as a top gymnastics prospect – and she is just nine-years-old.
The youngster is a student at the Spiral Gymnastics Club in Bretton, Peterborough where her coach is Katherine Everett, a former GB international who just missed out on the 2012 Olympic Games after suffering an untimely injury.

Allen became Cambridgeshire County Copper Champion in October, which qualified her to compete in the individual Regional Finals.
It also led to her to be selected for the Cambridgeshire Copper Team competing in Ipswich at the Regional Team finals.
‘Copper’ level gymnastics is for novice level competitors.
Last month, Allen fought off strong competition in a large field in Ipswich to become Regional Copper Champion.
She was also part of the Cambridgeshire squad that took the team title.
Sophia than excelled and won at the Spiral Club Championships where she competed above her natural age level in the under 11 event.
She took it in her stride though winning the Junior Bronze title and the overall Club Championship crown ahead of a huge field for the second season running.
