Fine London Marathon run by Lunn, but now he’s ready for plenty of Call of Duty!

Lunn enjoyed a fine run, finishing 25th in an impressive 2:17.59.
Although this was the former King’s School pupil’s first completed marathon, he is a seasoned campaigner when it comes to training for the distance. The 28 year old was raring to go when the race was postponed in April, and a year ago he was forced to step off the course during the Frankfurt Marathon with a stomach problem.

“I was on my own from 10 miles, so it was a lonely day,” said Lunn. “There was a screen with predicted finish times at the start of each lap which helped.
“I didn’t really realise how far I was into the race as there were so many split markers on the course, and I just ran off feel.
“From about 30km it started to bite and then the last 5km was really tough, I missed my drink at 40km which didn’t help. Without any spectators, Aaron Scott was the only person cheering for me.

I’m definitely having a couple of weeks off now, and will probably play a large amount of Call of Duty!”

Maddy Long of Peterborough Nene Valley AC clocked 3:25.14 and was the fastest local lady. Her clubmates Mark Popple and Simon Northcott completed the distance in times of 2:54.30 and 3:18.11 respectively.
