Bourne Deeping have launched a 'Hockey School' for young players
Bourne Deeping has launched a new ‘Hockey School’ for young players aged U6–U18, giving local children the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, make friends and enjoy being active.
The programme is split into two age groups, with sessions tailored to different stages of development. The Junior Hockey School (U6–U13) focuses on building fundamental skills and a love of the game, while the Youth Hockey School (U14–U18) develops players’ ability to apply their skills through decision-making, movement, attacking, defending and team play. The junior sessions take place on Saturdays (9am-10am) at Stamford School’s Wothorpe Road pitches, costing £5 per session. They are led by Dylan Parker, who brings more than 20 years of coaching experience, an FIH Level 3 certification and experience with international hockey camps and indoor leagues. The youth sessions run on Mondays (6.30pm-8.30pm) at the same venue, costing £12 per session. Sessions must be booked and paid for in advance. The programme is led by David Richardson, who brings around 30 years of coaching experience and worked alongside David Vinson, former England Head Coach and FIH Master Coach, for more than 12 years.
