They were pipped by two points at Moulton College earlier in the season but beat the Northamptonshire side 31-14 on their own patch in their final home game of the season.

The Peterborough lads couldn’t have wished for a better start. Straight from the kick-off they scored a try through Harry Wenman after surging runs upfield by the talented centre pairing of Tanaka Kanhukamwe and Brandon Calderbank.

Ten minutes later and Kanhukamwe was at it again, breaking through some poor tackling from Moulton to score a second try.

Regional College were flying and continued to move the ball wide - a ploy which brought a third try before half-time from full-back Nick Langton to make it 17-0.

Moulton continued to struggle against the pace of the Peterborough centres and Calderbank crossed to make it 24-0.

Moulton bounced back immediately after making some strong substitutions and scored their first seven points.

They quickly scored again as momentum from their pack started to control the game in the set piece.

But it was Peterborough who had the final say as scrum-half Frasier Leiper nipped in under the posts.

Peterborough coach Lewis Capes said: “That was a great win to close out our home play for the season. Our speed was the difference as the backline were relentless running through the Moulton defence.”
