JAIDKA CUP: Depleted Town side to face Cambs Division One leaders

Town host Ramsey in a quarter-final tie at Bretton Gate tonight (June 8, 6pm) with just five of their regular Northants Premier Division side in action.

Quick bowlers Joe Dawborn and David Sayer are in action for the Unicorns (a Minor Counties select XI) and Leicestershire Academy respectively, fellow paceman Jamie Smith has work commitments as does free-scoring batsman Tim Young, while star batter Asim Butt and middle-order man Marcus Howard will also be absent from a tough Twenty/20 game against the current Cambs Division One leaders,

Second-teamers Scott Howard, Kieran Jones, Kyle Medcalf, Alex Mitchell, Richard Kendall and Danny Oldham have all been called up.

Tonight’s other quarter-final tie sees holders Nassington travel to Bourne.

Castor have conceded their tie at Wisbech after failing to raise a side.

Last night’s quarter-final at Oundle was abandoned because of heavy rain with home side on 82-4 from 14 overs against Market Deeping. A new date has yet to be scheduled.
