'Robbo' returns for yet another season with Peterborough Phantoms, youngster also re-signs

Experienced defenceman Scott Robson is the latest Peterborough Phantoms’ player to commit to another season at Planet Ice.

The 30 year-old first arrived at Phantoms in 2014 on a two-way deal with the Hull Stingrays and promptly stepped up to represent Great Britain at U20 level.

A solid first season saw ‘Robbo’ become popular amongst fans, teammates and coaches alike and he’s been at the club ever since.

He’s now up to fourth in the Phantoms’ all-time appearance maker charts with 503. In that time, he’s scored 35 goals, been credited with 151 assists and made countless key defensive contributions.

Robson said: “I’m really pleased to be back once again with the Phantoms. We have a great group, and we are looking to push on from last season. I’m excited to get going again, and do whatever it takes for us to be successful and compete for trophies.”

Head coach, Ashley Tait, said: “Robbo’s value to the team doesn’t need spelling out. He blocks more shots than any other D man in the league and he brings a calmness to everyone around him.”

Phantoms have also re-signed young Scottish forward, Flynn Massie, for the 2026/27 season. He was on a two-way deal with lower level Widnes Wild last season.

He scored 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points in 36 games with the Wild last term and picked up his first Phantoms point while making 11 appearances.

Massie said: “I feel I developed my game as a player last year and i’m keen to get going again to help the team this season.”

Tait added: “Flynn will really benefit from being with us more frequently. His ice time grew towards the end of last year and he got some special teams time which we really want to develop.”
