Peterborough Phantoms’ ice hockey season has been ended early with the city finishing a creditable third in the NIHL National Division. There will be no traditional end-of-season play-off matches.

Midlands rugby union divisions which include Peterborough Lions and Peterborough RUFC have all been cancelled for the foreseeable future, while the National League and East League hockey competitions have been suspended until the middle of April at the earliest.

Confirmation the start of the speedway season will be delayed has now arrived. Peterborough Panthers were due to host King’s Lynn in their first competitive fixture of the season on Thursday (March 19), but all speedway has been postponed until April 15 at the earliest.

Yesterday (March 15) all local football competitions were suspended.
