The former Great Britain U18 and U20 captain has made over 100 appearances for Swindon since joining them from MK Lightning in 2018.

Phantoms coach Slava Koulikov has been a long-term admirer of Johnson and is delighted to have finally sealed the signing of the highly-rated player.

Koulikov said: “I’m really happy to have Luc join our organisation. I got to know Luc as a player and as a person when we worked together at GB U20. Luc was a real leader in that team and showed a lot of good qualities on and off the ice. “His team-first attitude, great game awareness and skillset remind me of Glenn Billing when he first joined us. I believe Luc is the right fit for our team and I am looking forward to working with him this season.”

Johnson was equally pleased to sign on the dotted line for Phantoms. He said: “I am very excited to be a part of the Phantoms organisation.

I would like to thank Slava and Dave and Jo Lane for giving me the opportunity to join such a good group. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the organisation from top to bottom.

“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season and challenging for some silverware. Stay safe and I’ll see you all soon.”
