A National League Cup Final place is at stake and the city side have the upper hand after beating fierce rivals MK Lightning 1-0 on their own ice in the semi-final first leg last week.

But MK were 6-2 winners on their last visit to the city over Christmas so there will no complacency in the home camp ahead of the second leg.

"It’s a massive game for us,” Phantoms defenceman Tom Norton said. “Winning at their place was huge, but we know MK will come at us hard on Friday and we must be ready to compete.

"We’re in great form though and goals are coming from all over the team so we’re confident.

"I remember beating them in a semi-final in our EPL days and that felt good and I’d love a repeat.”

Young forward Jasper Foster added: “It’s the biggest game of the season for the fans and a massive game for the players.

"You want to go into these big games on the back of winning matches and we’ve done that, but we know we will have to play to our best again to get through.”

Phantoms delivered an outstanding rearguard display to win that first leg in MK.

Tickets for the second leg are available from the Gophantoms.co.uk website.

Leeds Knights hold a 5-2 advantage from the first leg of their semi-final at Sheffield Steeldogs.

The second leg of that tie also takes place on Friday evening.
