Teenager Ellie Bolsover grabbed the only goal of the game as City of Peterborough maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the East Premier Division at Sevenoaks on Saturday (October 6).
Bolsover struck with a sweet short corner following an expertly improvised set-piece routine strike midway trough the second-half to give City the win they deserved,
City’s aim was to start with a high intensity and that’s exactly what they did. City controlled the first half, and created numerous chances going forward, but were unable to convert.
Sevenoaks created some opportunities in the first half, but City fended these off through persistent and determined defending throughout.
The second half was more of the same with Peterborough controlling the game throughout. Numerous chances were created from excellent attacking runs from a formidable performance from player of the match, Anna Faux.
City were unlucky to increase their advantage as they continued to demonstrate excellent teamwork and tenacity.
City remain third ahead of a trip to Harleston seconds next Saturday (October 13).
