YOUTH LEAGUE FOOTBALL: Dale's double earns Yaxley Lynx cup final glory
They took the honours in the Peterborough Youth League Under 16 Knockout Cup final by beating Division One rivals Pinchbeck United 2-1 at Chestnut Avenue thanks to two goals by Matthew Dale - his second coming in extra-time after the game finished 1-1 in normal time.
Substitute Harry Decamps got the Pinchbeck goal.
Lynx took the lead in the second half with a well controlled half-volley from Dale and the Pinchbeck equaliser came from a free-kick.

Dale settled the tie with a looping, swerving shot that dropped in over the keeper.
Yaxley manager James Royle said: “It was a great game, played at a fierce pace. It’s easy to say that Matt won the game for Lynx with two goals, but it was a full squad effort. We created chances, thwarted Pinchbeck attacks and once again demonstrated the mental strength to stick together, work through a gameplan and succeed.”
