The 2019-20 edition was halted in March with four points separating leaders Netherton United from fifth-placed Moulton Harrox.

Thorney were sixth, but with the games in hand to challenge for a top three finish.

Florence said: “The Premier Division looks like being highly competitive again.

“The usual suspects will be up there, while Moulton, Ketton and ICA Sports are all under new management.

“We will be doing our best, but there is some great competition. Plus if they promote the likes of Eye United there will be some very talented players about.

“Only three clubs have been in for my players so far and I don’t know if I should be proud or disappointed! I have a very loyal bunch though.”

The Peterborough League are expected to release their constitution for the 2020-21 season when the competition start date is known.
