And Barcelona crossed it last weekend with the trick penalty taken between Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

You’ve probably seen it as Sky have shown it 3,000 times. Messi shapes to take the spot-kick, but instead passes the ball to Suarez to slot home his third goal of the night. If it was that important for Suarez to complete a hat-trick why not just let him take the penalty rather than indulge in a cocky manoeuvre designed to show how clever and imaginative you are?

No surprise to see Suarez involved in such an ugly act, but has Messi been tainted by association?
