Peterborough United centre-back Rhys Bennett capped a strong defensive display by scoring his first goal for the club in today’s (September 29) 2-2 League One draw with Blackpool at the ABAX Stadium.

Substitute Mark O’Hara also scored on a day when the Posh forward players had a rare collective off day.

Ratings Key: 10: Perfect, 9: Outstanding. 8: Very good. 7 Good. 6=average. 5=Poor. 4=Stinker

Aaron Chapman: No chance with the goals he conceded, almost caught out messing around with the ball at his feet in his own penalty area, but handled everything he could reach pretty well 6

Jason Naismith: Almost won the match with a brilliant right-foot half volley in stoppage time, but looked short of energy and pace at other times 6

Colin Daniel: Could do more to stop the many crosses that fly into the Posh penalty area. Another to look quite sluggish 6

Rhys Bennett: Claimed his first goal for the club with a set-piece header and was commanding in his own penalty area. Looks a strong player when concentrating on defending rather than playing out from the back 8

Ryan Tafazolli: Playing consistently well and shored up the middle of the Posh defence with Bennett despite the formidable presence of Blackpool striker Gnanduillet 7

Alex Woodyard: Overworked as usual against a team who played brightly on the break. Made numerous strong interventions, but there are times when he’s crying out for help 7

Jamie Walker: Game rather passed him by after a couple of early long range shots which is a shame as he is a classy player 5.5

Marcus Maddison: His quality was lacking. In fact he did a lot his best work tracking back and covering others 6

Siriki Dembele: His quietest game of the season apart from delivering the cross for the opening goal. Too often he tries a trick too many when a cross or shot needs to be delivered 5

Matt Godden: Fed on scraps in his hour on the pitch. Ball played up too high to him or too far out of his reach. Substituted early 5

Ivan Toney: Couldn’t fault his commitment and physical strength against two powerful defenders. Didn’t contribute a great deal until coming alive in the final 30 minutes. Rattled the crossbar with a ferocious strike 6

Substitutes

Mark O’Hara: (for Godden (62 mins) made an immediate impact with a wonderful goal and made a difference with his physical strength and powerful running. Manager blamed him for the second Blackpool goal though.

Joe Ward: (for Dembele, 72 mins). Brought some late energy to the team

Jason Cummings: (for Walker, 80 mins). Looked lively, but wasted precious seconds getting the ball onto his left foot when presented with a shooting chance
