The 23-year-old midfielder signed a three-year deal earlier this week after deciding he needed a step up from League Two football with Crawley.

“Crawley was very good for me,” Edwards stated. “It’s always tough to move on, but the time was right for me and Peterborough seems like it should be the right club.

“There had been a bit of interest in me, but as soon as Peterborough came in, the move happened very quickly.

“I came up to see the manager and I loved what he had to say. I didn’t take long to make my mind up.

“I can play anywhere across the middle. I’m quick and I like to take people on so hopefully I will fit into the style of play the manager wants.

“I’m ambitious and I want to progress and develop as a footballer.

“The aim now is to settle in with the squad, have a good pre-season and then challenge for promotion from League One.”

Edwards started his career at Swansea, but failed to break into the first team.

After a short spell on loan with Scottish side St Johnstone, Edwards joined Crawley and made 87 appearances, scoring 13 goals.

Edwards has been selected for full Wales squads, but has yet to win a cap. he has played for Wales Under 18s and Under 21s.
