Ball and Grant starred in Saturday’s (February 4) 3-0 League One win at Port Vale, a result that steered Posh’s play-off push back on track ahead of a home game with League One leaders Sheffield United at the ABAX Stadium this weekend (February 11).

Midfielder Grant made his Posh debut against the club he left on transfer deadline day.

“We defended well as a team and there is no doubt Anthony’s presence was a massive help to me and (centre-back partner) Ryan Tafazolli.

“Sometimes a team needs fresh faces. If you expect to be picked every week you can get too comfortable, but we have terrific competition for places now which can only help us in our push for promotion.

“We were at it from first minute to last at Port Vale. We were more of a threat going forward and we were very solid at the back.

“We are bound to get a big test on Saturday. There’s a reason why Sheffield United are top, but we fancy our chances of going up as well.

“I’m buzzing for the game. It will hopefully be my first home game and the bigger the match, and the bigger the crowd, the more I like it.

“The players and staff are all excited about playing Sheffield United. We are confident we can beat them as well.”
