Young Peterborough United striker joins League Two side on loan

Young Peterborough United striker Pemi Aderoju has moved into League Two on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old had been heavily linked to a loan move to Crawley Town by prominent journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Aderoju spent the first half of last season on loan at Eastbourne Borough in the National League South - scoring 15 times in the league - before being recalled with Posh in the midst of an injury crisis.

He played 17 times after returning, starting once and scoring once in a 6-1 home win over Wigan.

Posh are believed to be in the market for another striker to provide back-up for Harry Leonard.

Crawley narrowly avoided relegation to the National League last season and finished in 22nd place, just one point above relegated Harrogate Town.

Aderoju signed a new long term contract with the club in March and arrived from Biggleswade in February 2024.

Crawley boss Colin Kazim-Richards said: “I am very glad to get this one over the line as there were a few people in the market for Pemi. He has great attributes, and a knack for scoring goals. He is very dangerous in the box, and is constantly affecting the game.”

Posh had already loaned out another of the strikers on their books with Bradley Ihionvien joining Colchester United on a season-long loan.
