The 25 year-old has been able to bond with son Teddy, but he’s now set his sights on righting the wrongs of last season when Posh were arguably denied promotion by the League One campaign finishing early due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The loss of the final nine games prevented Pym from extending his impressive clean sheet record beyond 15, the best record among League One keepers last season.

“It’s certainly been a different way of living for all of us in lockdown over the last three months,” Pym stated while taking a breather in pre-season training.

“But I became a dad so it was actually quite nice to be around to the support my family and to spend some quality time with my son.

“It was a frustrating end to last season as we could easily have won promotion and now be getting ready for the Championship.

“If we’d played the final games we would have got there, but seeing Rotherham and Wycombe playing in the Championship and remembering how they got there will motivate us.

“It’s nice to win the League One Golden Glove prize, but I had a chance of the club record for most clean sheets in a season which would have been good.

“I was a little inconsistent at the start of last season so I will use eight weeks of pre-season to sort that out.

“We can all switch on now and get ready for September 12. It’s nice to know the League One start date is set in stone.”
