Why Peterborough United co-owner believes his club could finally be on course for the Championship

Peterborough United co-owner Darragh MacAnthony reckons last weekend’s (October 24) win at Hull proved his team have what it takes to finally win that elusive promotion back to the Championship this season.

MacAnthony was less thrilled with the subsequent 2-2 draw at home to bottom club Burton Albion on Tuesday night, but he’s confident the players will respond the right way when Shrewsbury visit London Road tomorrow (October 31, 3pm).

MacAnthony said on his popular ‘Hard Truth’ podcast: “We were dogged at Hull. Not many teams would have come back from a goal down at half-time like we did to win there. Watching that game I felt maybe this will be our year at last.

“We weren’t ourselves against Burton. We looked lacklustre, but we still had enough chances to win the game. I’m sure we will be rested up and ready to go again on Saturday though.”

Posh are fourth in League One ahead of tomorrow’s match.
