A perfect time then to grade the players for their performances and efforts so far this season. It’s fair to say ‘must do better’ applies to many. Players must have made five League One appearances to qualify for a grade.
Grading key: A: Outstanding, B: Very Good. C: Steady. D: Poor, E: Very disappointing.

5. SAM CURTIS - D
There was a promising start for the on-loan full-back, but now set to leave London Road in the new year after what turned out to be an erratic stint with the club. Photo: Joe Dent

6. RYAN DE HAVILLAND - B-
Missed the start of season because of injury, but has looked the part in midfield since recovering. Very tidy on the ball with good vision and two decent feet. Whether or not that brings a lot of games in 2025 is another matter because the competition is stiff, but he's done well so far. Photo: David Lowndes

7. JAMES DORNELLY - C-
Young full-back who has mixed the good with some bad, but he understands his role in the Posh style of play and can be expected to improve. Neat and tidy passer of the ball. Scored his first senior goal in the 3-3 home draw with Rotherham. Photo: s

8. EMMANUEL FERNANDEZ - C-
The tall centre-back is entertaining and clearly doesn’t lack confidence, but his performances have been all over the place. He’s scored four goals – including an outstanding one at Exeter City which was his first in the Football League – which is terrific for a defender and his passing can be high class, but he needs to improve his concentration levels to help cut out the errors. Doesn’t dominate his own penalty area like a man of his size should. Only Posh player to be sent off this season. Photo: Joe Dent
