The mood among the fanbase is decidedly downbeat since the disappointment of Saturday’s dismal 3-0 home defeat by Cheltenham but there are still 11 games to go.
Even if many think Posh will ultimately fall short, it is far soon for the team selection to cast an eye to next season.
For this reason, The PT has still picked the strongest possible side in a 4-2-3-1 to face Burton Albion on Tuesday night (7:45pm).
Hector Kyprianou looks to be struggling with an injury that forced him off against Cheltenham.

9. KWAME POKU
Burrows still needs to toughen up to play centrally and Burton away may not be the game for him. It's not a perfect solution because Poku is better out wide but he may produce some trickery to create an opening. Photo: Joe Dent

10. JOE WARD
Poku sliding over frees up the space for Ward to play out on the right, he did at least come the closest for scoring for Posh against Cheltenham and is probably the most likely man to register after Clarke-Harris. Photo: Joe Dent

11. JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS
He has his obvious limits and offers little on the ball with his back to goal, which he needs to sort out but he;s the division's top scorer and Tshimanga is a similar mould of striker as well. He has to start. Photo: Joe Dent

12. THE SUBSTITUTES
Will Blackmore, Dan Butler, Frankie Kent, Jeando Fuchs, Harrison Burrows, Joel Randall and Kabongo Tshimanga. Photo: Joe Dent
